Family Adventure in Malaysia & Borneo

Ideal for children aged 5–11 | City, Beach & Wildlife

 

This itinerary is designed for families with primary-school-age children, with one main activity per day and plenty of time built in for swimming, beach time and relaxing.

London → Kuala Lumpur
Fly overnight from London to Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur (3 nights)
A relaxed introduction to Asia, perfect for adjusting to the time difference.

Planned as one half-day activity per day, for example:

  • Petronas Twin Towers & park

  • Batu Caves or cultural neighbourhoods

The other half of each day is free for hotel pool time, rest and easy meals.

Kota Kinabalu, Borneo (3 nights)

Fly to Kota Kinabalu, combining beaches with gentle exploration.

Optional half-day activities include:

  • Island hopping and snorkelling

  • Waterfront markets and local sights

Afternoons are left free for beach time, swimming pools and downtime.

Kinabatangan River – Jungle Lodge (2 nights)

Travel inland to the rainforest for a real wildlife experience.

Daily structure:

  • Early morning boat safari

  • Jungle wildlife night walk

  • Mid-day free for rest, games, swimming or relaxing at the lodge

Sepilok (2 nights)

Nairobi (1 night)

Arrive and settle in after the flight.

Light afternoon activity, depending on arrival time:

  • Giraffe Centre or Nairobi National Park

Evening at leisure and early night.

Hell’s Gate National Park (2 nights)

Travel to Hell’s Gate National Park, one of Kenya’s most unique safari destinations.

Key experience:

  • Cycling safari through the park, riding alongside giraffes, zebras and antelope

  • Guided walks through gorges and geothermal landscapes

Activities are typically in the morning, with afternoons free to relax at the lodge or pool.

Maasai Mara (2–3 nights)
